On my recent road trip to Chicago, I visited the Chicago Art Institute Museum. While having lunch on the patio of the Terzo Piano resturant, I took this reflection selfie. I really like the grid quality of the fence. Reflection selfies are such fun!!
Museum Selfies
I like the idea of selfies, but i don't necessarily like pictures of myself...so I like to come up with other ways to take selfies. The Denver Art Museum has provided many opportunities to take 'creative' selfies!! Here I am at the Degas Exhibit and with friends at the Mi Tierra exhibit.
Creating Portraits with Image Transfer
I love using photos to create one-of-a-kind gifts and cards for friends and family. After enhancing the photo in Photoshop, I can size it to fit my mixed media background. After applying the image with the transfer process, I can then enhance it more with paint, pens, and collage. Here are examples of recent pieces I did for my in-laws.
Teacher as student
In January I took a 2 day workshop with Victoria Eubanks at the Art Students League of Denver. It was fun being the student for a change! I am very intrigued by encaustic and look forward to incorporating it with my mixed media. These are my results.
The Beginning
Here is my new art website. It has been a long learning curve to get myself up to speed, but the Squarespace tutorials were very helpful. Now I can get back to creating!!
My next Mixed Media Playtime workshop is coming February 17th. If you are interested, please contact me.
